MONTHLY CASE STUDY

The Ark typically assists neighbors who can verify a recent loss of income with rent, utilities and medications. However, the flexibility of our policies allows us to consider purchasing items that other agencies can not. Just recently, we had a social worker from the local hospital contact us regarding a family who had been involved in an auto accident.  The father was air lifted to Atlanta and the mother and two small children were taken to a local hospital.  The hospital could not release the children until car seats were available, being their car seats were damaged in the accident.  The social worker contacted The Ark with prices and we were able to write a check to a local merchant for the purchase of new car seats so the mother could take her children home.
