2024 Annual Report: Providing help, hope, understanding, and advocacy to our Neighbors in financial crisis for 36 years. Listed are various photos of neighbors that we assisted in 2024.

Emergency Financial Assistance Impact: 919 Neighbors Served, $198,502.00 Provided in Assistance, 240 Evictions Prevented, 153 Disconnections Prevented, 23 Special needs, 638 Food Bank Referrals

Neighbor Impact stories:
Meet Erin. When she lost her job due to a lay off, the fear of losing her home was overwhelming. As a single mother, the weight of this uncertainty was immense. The Ark's rental assistance program provided a lifeline, allowing her to focus on finding a new job while keeping her family safe and secure. Erin is now back on her feet, and her story is a testament to the vital role The Ark plays in supporting our community during times of crisis.

Mr. Hussey was facing imminent power disconnection due to soaring summer bills. With limited income, he struggled to find the help he desperately needed. The Ark's Emergency Utility Assistance Fund stepped in, preventing a power outage and alleviating immense stress. This situation is unfortunately all too common. Rising energy costs are straining budgets across our community. Your support empowers The Ark to help more neighbors like Mr. Hussey, ensuring safe and comfortable living conditions for all.

Common Wealth Athens Impact:
271 Individuals Served, $10,200.00 in Loans, 100% Repayment rate, 542 Education Hours Provided, 99% Overall Improvement

Stories of Success:
Mr. A came to the Ark in search of financial education. After
previously exploring other financial planning curriculums, he landed
at the Ark in pursuit of a more personalized, goal-centered approach.
After attending several one-on-one sessions, he decided to bring his
wife in on the educational benefits CWA has to offer. The two are now
working towards shared financial goals and exploring ways to
streamline their finances to accomplish their dream of home ownership
in the near future.

The Ark is so excited to work with our banking and lending partner, First American Bank & Trust! First American is highly invested in our community and is committed to the success of our neighbors in need. Through our partnership, The Ark can reach more individuals and families through Common Wealth Athens loan program!

Each year our volunteers give over 400 hours of their time to The Ark. Their help makes significant changes in the lives of our neighbors.
Your time makes a difference.
Volunteer: Community participation is essential to our vision and mission in the community. Your involvement will help us prevent working families from slipping through the cracks and into homelessness.
Donate: This year our programs will financially assist over 500 working families, provide over 1,450 food bank referrals, and log over 400 hours in lending and educational support
Mentor: We are always in search of engaging volunteers, dynamic partnerships, and compassionate supporters. Let us know how you’d like to make a difference!
