Our volunteers help The Ark provide hope to our neighbors by allowing us to assist our neighbors in their particular times of need. We would not be able to provide all of our services without the help of our dedicated volunteers who give their time, energy, and contribute to making our organization a success.
Daniel, a student at the University of Georgia, started volunteering with The Ark in September of 2025. Daniel learned about volunteer opportunities here from his brother, David, who volunteered at The Ark the previous semester. Daniel says his favorite part of volunteering at The Ark is that he is "able to help struggling neighbors" and he loves "helping them out of a tough situation." He notes that he feels the most impactful moments at The Ark are "when we are able to help a neighbor avoid getting evicted." Daniel has been truly such an asset to our volunteer team. He is so incredibly professional and leads every interaction with empathy. He makes sure to check with every neighbor that they aren't in need of food, and if they are he works diligently to provide a food bank referral. Daniel wanted to include that "The Ark has been a wonderful experience to volunteer at. Everyone has been welcoming and kind. Volunteering here has made a real difference in the world."
