Rent and eviction assistance

Family Promise and The Ark will start taking applications for rent assistance for those who do not currently have an eviction notice. You can only apply to one agency for assistance. Please call the Ark between 9:00 - 12:30 (Mon-Fri) to discuss your eligibility at 706-548-8155 or fill out the online application link above for rental assistance if you are a family.

If you currently already have an eviction notice from the court, and meet the eligibility criteria below, please fill out the online application link on August 1.

Eligibility: 

• Must be an Athens-Clarke County Resident

• Must not make above 65% of Athens-Clarke County AMI

• If assisted, must drop any counterclaims against your landlord 

• Must have been financially impacted by Covid-19

Once you are conditionally approved and contacted by us, the following documents will be required: 

• Proof of Identification

• Lease in your name

• Two months of Income  

  • Paystubs  

  • SSI/SSDI award letter 

  • Worker’s comp 

  • Court ordered child support letter 

  • Proof of TANF 

• Ledger from landlord/Court paper   

• Landlord’s proof ownership/authorization for property management company, etc.  

• Tax ID#, W-9 Form, EIN, for business, SSN for individual
